The Master of Public Administration program at UNC-Chapel Hill is committed to preparing leaders who are confident decision makers and resource managers, always acting with integrity and purpose.
“The best part if the MPA program is the practicality of it. Every project and lesson is geared towards preparing students for the type of work they will be completing upon graduation”
Our core curriculum was designed by our expert faculty to build the competencies that matter most for leaders. Always integrating theory with practice, our coursework is engaging, thoughtful, and applicable. Students can customize their UNC MPA degree by choosing a concentration or enrolling in a dual-degree program.
Students don’t stop learning when they leave the classroom. Co-curricular experiences, such as the Professional Work Experience, Assessment Center, and alumni/student mentorship program, can foster leadership skills in important ways.
Throughout the program, we are committed to helping students develop as leaders and reach their career goals. Whether students want to improve their public speaking skills, become more comfortable with networking, or learn how to negotiate an employment offer, our dedicated Career Services and Professional Development team will help.
A key strength of our program is the strong sense of community felt among our students and alumni. We are committed to providing students with rewarding experiences outside the classroom to ensure that they maximize their time in the program. Join a student organization, take on a leadership role, present at a conference, or participate in a networking event with our alumni—we are here to help every student find their place within UNC MPA.
