The Master of Public Administration program at UNC-Chapel Hill is committed to preparing leaders who are confident decision makers and resource managers, always acting with integrity and purpose.
“The best part of the MPA program is the practicality of it. Every project and lesson is geared towards preparing students for the type of work they will be completing upon graduation.”
Our expert faculty designed the core curriculum to build the most critical competencies for leaders. Constantly integrating theory with practice, our coursework is engaging, thoughtful, and applicable. Students can customize their UNC MPA degree by choosing a concentration or enrolling in a dual-degree program.
Students don’t stop learning when they leave the classroom. Co-curricular experiences like our Professional Work Experiences, Assessment Centers, and alumni/student mentorship programs can foster leadership skills.
Throughout the program, we are committed to helping students develop as leaders and reach their career goals. Whether students want to improve their public speaking skills, become more comfortable with networking, or learn how to negotiate an employment offer, our dedicated Career Services and Professional Development team will help.
The key strength of our program is the strong sense of community our students and alumni feel. We are committed to providing rewarding experiences outside the classroom to ensure that students maximize their time in the program. Join a student organization, take on a leadership role, present at a conference, or participate in a networking event with our alumni—we are here to help every student find their place within UNC MPA.
