The David N. Ammons Scholarship

History

David N. Ammons arrived at the School of Government in 1996 and for more than two decades taught countless courses to North Carolina local government practitioners and UNC-CH MPA students alike. He served as the director of the MPA program from 2001 to 2006. His career is defined by his incomparable body of work in the field of local government performance management, for which he is renowned not just across the nation but also around the world.

The David N. Ammons Scholarship was established by former students, UNC MPA alumni, colleagues, and friends to honor David’s legacy of scholarship, teaching, mentoring, and friendship.

Recipient

All UNC-CH MPA on-campus admitted, and current students are eligible and considered for this scholarship without additional application; preference is given to a student or students who intends to pursue a career in local government.
