Audrey Shore ’16 says that public service is a career, a passion project, and a labor of love. Shore has put her communications, fundraising, and project management skills to work for a variety of nonprofit, political, and higher education organizations as an intern, volunteer, and staff member.

The MPA program is more than a series of courses that lead to a degree. It is a network—not only of one’s cohort, but of alumni, faculty, and staff, all of whom are eager to support and advocate for one another other . Shore credits many of her career successes and advancements with the network of friends and colleagues she made while earning her MPA at the UNC School of Government

So far in her career, she has worn many hats including membership manager, marketer, leadership annual giving officer, grant writer, event planner, board wrangler, foundations and corporate relations liaison, and database aficionado.

Shore earned a BS in public history, summa cum laude, from Appalachian State University and a Master of Public Administration from UNC-Chapel Hill, where she served as president of the Carolina Society for Future Leaders.
