C. Ronald Aycock Public Administration Scholarship

History

C. Ronald Aycock worked for the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners from 1973 to 2005, serving as the executive director from 1977 through his retirement. The Association’s deputy director, Ed Regan, conceived the scholarship in 2005 to honor Aycock’s more than 30-year career with the organization and his commitment to local government.

Aycock earned both a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a JD at UNC-Chapel Hill. After retirement from the NCACC, he served 15 years as the part time County Attorney for Person County and continues to serve North Carolina as a senior associate with the Aycock Group, which focuses on economic development and community visioning.
