The David N. Ammons Scholarship
Professor David Ammons came to the UNC MPA program in 1997 and for over two decades taught MPA students and North Carolina local government practitioners. In 2001, he was appointed MPA director, a position he served in until 2006.
Along with being named Albert Coates Professor, Ammons authored nine books on local government management and numerous papers and articles on performance measurement, benchmarking, and productivity improvement in local government. Ammons’s legacy goes beyond the impact he made on the students he taught and mentored and his renowned work around the world in performance management.
Recipient
All students are eligible for this scholarship with preference given to students who intend to pursue a career in local government.
