Audrey Shore '16

Job Title:
Public Communications Specialist

Ackland Art Museum, UNC-Chapel Hill

Public service is more than a career. It is a way of living life. The MPA program is more than a series of courses that lead to a degree. It is a network—not only of one’s cohort, but of alumni, faculty, and staff, all of whom eager to support and advocate for each other.

Audrey Shore ’16 says that public service is a career and a way of living life. With a background in fundraising and communications, Shore has sought paid positions and volunteer opportunities that combine her strengths and challenge her professionally. Her passion for public service, both paid and unpaid, shows no signs of waning as she moves forward in her career

Shore has put her communications, fundraising, and data management skills to work for a variety of nonprofit, political, and higher education organizations as an intern, volunteer, and staff member.

From managing a donor database and interpreting digital analytics tools, writing alumni newsletters, fundraising appeals, social media, brand strategies, or web content to creating and managing special events, Shore has put her broad MPA education to work for organizations whose missions she supports.

Shore earned a BS in pubic history, summa cum laude, from Appalachian State University and a Master of Public Administration from UNC-Chapel Hill, where she served as president of the Carolina Society for Future Leaders.
